What are Green Care day activities? They are our nature-based day activities for adults with learning disabilities.
Camphill Village Trust provides day opportunities centred on nature-based day activities for adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health problems, and complex needs. These activities are part of our Green Care programme. Our support focuses on engaging individuals in meaningful activities, including growing and horticulture, animal care and husbandry, arts and crafts, creative wellbeing, countryside management, catering, food preparation and processing, as well as retail and customer service.
All of which deliver a life of opportunity for the people we support by helping them build confidence, engagement, skills, and the chance to re-connect with nature in a meaningful and purposeful way. Â

Growing and horticulture
Our communities feature a variety of farms and gardens, ranging from small to large scale, where we teach food growing and horticulture skills. We help individuals grow their own vegetables, fruits, herbs, plants, and flowers, primarily using organic gardening principles.
Nature-based arts and crafts
Nature-based arts and crafts are integral to our communities, offering activities for people of all ages and abilities. These projects include textiles, weaving, printmaking, ceramics, woodwork, and willow and cane weaving.
Creative arts for wellbeing
Our drama and music activities offer tremendous benefits for the people we support. Drama creates a safe space for self-expression and communication, enabling individuals to express their thoughts and feelings through movement, gestures, and dialogue.
