Location
Oaklands Park is a 150-acre rural community situated near Newnham On Severn on the edge of the Forest of Dean.Â
We offer opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and other support needs. They live and work within a beautiful location, where their contributions to the life of our community are valued.Â
Our 150-acre estate offers a livestock farm, eight acre market garden, wood workshop and a weavery. We have animals and grow and sell vegetables, fruit, flowers and firewood to the local community and other outlets. We follow biodynamic principals to produce quality food without chemicals and artificial fertilisers.Â
We support adults with a learning disability and autism. The people we support have varying support needs; this consists of: Â
Across the Gloucestershire communities we have a mixture of shared accommodation and single person accommodation. All the accommodation is supported living.Â
At Oaklands Park, we offer nature-based activities from our Green Care Programme to the people we support and those in the local community.Â
Find out more here. If you’re interested in attending one of our day opportunities or activities, please contact us.Â
The activities we offer consist of: Â
The market garden is run as an opportunity for more independent community members to volunteer; this is accessed by 14 people.Â
In 2014, Oaklands Park took on the management and support of the old Taurus Crafts support services. The new name for these services is Lydney Community Support. This managed accommodation in Lydney includes community houses, townhouses and purpose built flats for those with greater independence. Support is always close at hand. Most of our housing is close to Lydney town centre.
Many of the people we support work and volunteer at Camphill Village Trust’s Taurus Crafts Visitor Centre, close by which has continued to be popular to those local to the area and those visiting. Taurus Craft Visitor Centre sells a range of quality products including those found on our online shop.
