The Trust Welcomes New Electric Vehicles!

Caring for the environment is one of our guiding principles.

We are committed to playing our part in addressing climate change and working towards carbon neutrality. Our new electric ‘Green Fleet’ marks an exciting step on this journey.

PALS team members with electric vehicles

In 2024, our Estates team launched an in-house property and land service, known as ‘PALS’. This initiative ensures a friendly and efficient service for the adults with learning and other disabilities we support across our supported living homes and land-based activities.

By equipping the PALS team with electric vehicles, we’re reducing transport emissions, cutting fuel costs, and taking a sustainable approach to service delivery. We now have seven electric vans and three electric Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs), enabling the team to operate efficiently across our nine communities.

Robin, Head of the Natural Environment, shared: “We reviewed our fleet, looked at what the service needed to operate efficiently across our nine communities and have secured both cost savings to the charity, whilst removing harmful emissions from the environment. We also managed to procure electric All-Terrain Vehicles and have started introducing electric garden tools.”

The first vehicles arrived just before Christmas and into January, paving the way for a greener 2025.

Together, we’re taking meaningful steps to create a more sustainable future for everyone.
