Trustee Week: Celebrating the Vital Role of Trustees

This week, we’re celebrating Trustee Week 4-8 November 2024

It is Trustee Week, a time to recognise the hard work, commitment, and expertise that trustees bring to charities like Camphill Village Trust. Trustees are essential to our work, providing oversight and guidance to help us stay true to our mission while shaping a sustainable future for our charity.

Our trustees volunteer their time and knowledge, working behind the scenes to ensure the best for our communities. As Dr Ann Kenney, one of our dedicated trustees, puts it:

“Being able to volunteer time, skills and expertise towards a cause or charity that’s close to your heart is a really rewarding experience. Charities need trustees, but we, families around the country, need charities. For those willing to take on the legal responsibilities of acting as Trustee, to support and challenge the charity as a critical friend, using your own business knowledge and expertise as well as a commitment to keep learning, the role of a Trustee can be deeply rewarding.”

She also adds, “I am so proud to have played a small part of the recent work by the Trust to forge a brighter future for the people we support, through holding onto our core values, and shaping our strategy to deliver our unique services in a modern context.”

Trustees play a crucial role in every charity, supporting and challenging the organisation to create positive change. We are immensely grateful to our trustees, whose dedication ensures we can continue making a difference in people’s lives for years to come.

Happy Trustee Week to all trustees and those who work alongside them to make our communities thrive!
