Christmas celebrations across Camphill Village Trust Communities
As Christmas approaches, our Camphill Village Trust communities are embracing the festive spirit with a variety of heartwarming activities and events. From bustling fairs to magical Santa experiences, there’s been no shortage of seasonal cheer. Here’s a look at how we’ve been celebrating the season so far.
Delrow Community: A magical Advent Fair
Delrow Community kicked off the festive season in style with their popular Advent Fair. Over the course of three hours, the event drew a full house, creating a joyful atmosphere for all who attended. Visitors enjoyed the chance to shop for handmade gifts crafted with care by the people we support in our pottery, textiles, art, and forest craft groups. Alongside the stunning wares, guests indulged in delicious food that added to the festive vibes. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, the event raised an impressive £3,000 for our community.
Botton Village: A wholesome Christmas Fair
Botton Village brought festive magic to life with their wholesome Christmas Fair. The event featured live music, artisan stalls, and traditional games, making it a perfect family day out. Attendees savoured delicious food and mulled apple juice, while exploring a wide range of handcrafted items made with love and skill. The joy of community and the spirit of the season was truly on display.
Larchfield Community: A classic Christmas Fayre
Larchfield Community hosted a delightful Christmas Fayre packed with festive fun for all ages. Guests were treated to artisan Christmas gifts, homemade mince pies, scones, cakes, and hot drinks to keep the winter chill at bay. The event also featured carol singing, performances, and the chance to meet some of the farm’s adorable animals. With games, raffles, and a warm community spirit, it was a memorable day for everyone who attended.
Taurus Crafts: A Christmas Market & Santa’s Grotto
At Taurus Crafts, the festivities are still going strong! This year’s Christmas Markets are the biggest yet, featuring over 30 makers each weekend. Shoppers have been enjoying beautiful handcrafted items to suit all budgets, live music, festive food and drink, and free children’s activities.
The Santa’s Grotto experience has been a highlight, offering families the chance to meet Father Christmas in a beautifully styled winter wonderland. Each ticket includes a wrapped gift, delicious hot chocolate, and an old-school polaroid photo to capture the moment. Families have also been snapping their own mini photoshoots amidst the magical setting, creating lasting memories to cherish.
