Big Health and Wellbeing Event
In June, five people we support from Grange Village attended the 14th Big Health and Wellbeing Open Day 2022.
The event took place at Oxstalls Sports Park and brought over 120 stands from businesses across Gloucestershire together, as well as 14 inclusive activities and two interactive workshops.
Three of the stands represented Camphill Village Trust and were for Co-production, Day Opportunities and Severnside Skills.
Co-production Lead, Janet said ‘Lots of people came and spoke with us to find out about Camphill and Taurus Crafts.
Our team did a brilliant job at networking for new opportunities and enjoyed trying out different activities throughout the day.
What happened on the day?
Harriet, from Grange Village, said ‘Everyone came and looked at our Severnside Skills stand and tried our cake. People wanted to know more about Taurus Crafts and what activities were going on over the summer.’
Activities that were on offer throughout the day included a treasure hunt ran by Inclusion Gloucestershire, meeting a singing parrot, inclusive sports and various arts and crafts activities.
Douglas, from Grange Village, said ‘It was fantastic seeing people from different charities. I did an animal hunt and won a T-shirt. I also tried the adaptive bikes which was great fun.’
As well as talking to people at the stands, people we support were also given the opportunity to speak to other organisations and learn about what they do, have face to face interactions and try out activities and resources.
Adrian, from Grange Village, said ‘I enjoyed walking around other stalls to talk to people to find out what they did. It was a marvellous day.’
Janet said ‘Our team did a brilliant job at networking for new opportunities and enjoyed trying out different activities throughout the day.’
This was a brilliant day, and our team did a fantastic job at promoting all the good things that we do in our Gloucestershire Communities and Taurus Crafts.
