Cleveland Police Community Engagement Team
In our most recent ‘Voices of Larchfield’ meeting, we were joined by Zoe and Neil from Cleveland Police Community Engagement Team.
Support worker Deborah said, “They bought a selection of police hats, that everyone tried on, and explained how you can tell an Officers rank by the hat they are wearing.”
“They also brought the big police van and showed us all the kit they must carry, and we got to sit in the little cage section where people are put when they are arrested.”
It was really interesting to see all the of the equipment, and we didn’t realise how much they had to take out with them. Some of us even held the “big red door key” that is used to knock doors down, and it was really heavy!
Community members were also given the opportunity to enter a competition asking people to create and send in bright and colourful designs to be added to the recently bought new community engagement van.
The competition is for everyone across Cleveland, so we have our fingers crossed that one of our entries from Larchfield Community will win!
Neil said, “We love visiting Larchfield, it is such a friendly and welcoming place. We hope to visit again in the future, to keep up to date with what is happening at the community.”
Thank you, Zoe and Neil, we can’t wait for you to visit up again!
