CEO Huw John to leave the Trust after 10 years

After ten years with the charity, our CEO Huw John has decided to leave the Trust this summer.

We are immensely grateful for all the hard work, dedication and passion Huw has put into the organisation and how he has always pushed to ensure the people we support are at the heart of all we do.

Huw has taken the time to speak with colleagues across the organisation over the last few weeks and we wanted to share a statement from Huw with all our readers.

As we’re a few weeks into this new year, I wanted to share that after 10 years as CEO of Camphill Village Trust I have decided the time is right for me to seek new adventures and opportunities in the sector, and in my own life – so I will be leaving the Trust this June.

Even though this has been my intention for some time, I know it’s going to be so hard to say goodbye to something that’s been such a big part of my life and that I am still passionate about. This was not an easy decision – but it feels like the right time for a new chapter for me and the Trust.

Brian Walsh, Chair of the Board of Trustees, and I have been working together to ensure we have a well-planned programme to support the positive recruitment and smooth handover to a new CEO.  Trustees have appointed Gatenby Sanderson to lead on the recruitment. Trustees hope to hold interviews in March.

Despite the national challenges of Covid, our Trust is in a strong place to attract a lot of interest in the CEO role, as we are well respected across the sector and have a reputation for innovation and a positive organisational culture – plus we are packed with amazing, dedicated and caring people. This is a great role, and I am confident Trustees will appoint a talented person who will bring many skills and experience to the Trust.

In the meantime, it’s very much business as usual – not only do we have the ongoing Covid context to navigate, but we have many important projects and developments underway that need our shared focus on the months ahead. I will be as focused, committed and demanding of the best for the people we support as always during this time.

Many thanks

Huw
