Support work
If you are the sort of person who treats others with respect, listens to their needs, understands their emotions, and is warm, kind and honest, and enjoys supporting people to learn and develop new skills and make the most of life’s opportunities, you would make a great support worker.
Camphill Village Trust supports adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health problems and complex needs across our communities in England.
What is support work?
Support workers look after the well-being of vulnerable people or people who require care to live their lives as independently as possible. Support work involves helping people with daily tasks, such as getting washed and dressed, eating, and filling out forms, and will vary depending on the needs of the person.
At Camphill Village Trust we take a person-centred approach to social care and support. This means we explore with each person how we can support, encourage and empower them to make informed choices, gain life skills and contribute to society in a way that brings purpose and meaning to them.
What do you need to be a support worker?
